MHC and odor in humans.

Subjects were asked about the "pleasantness" of the odor associated with a T-shirt worn by the opposite sex.

With the exception of women on oral contraceptives, men and women found the odor associated with MHC dissimilar (negative correlation in the graph) from their own to be the most pleasant.

Thus body odor may be indirect evidence of good (compatible) genes in humans.
