Magnetic monarchs?
    (A) In a nonmagnetic environment, monarchs oriented randomly.

    (B) In a normal magnetic field, the butterflies oriented in a southwestern direction, as they do in nature (toward Mexico).

    (C) When the magnetic fields were reversed, monarchs reversed their normal orientation (and flew in a northeastern direction).
