Bold and shy fish.
A large seine was used to capture all the pumpkinseed sunfish in a pond, including bold and shy (inhibited) individuals.
In another setup, underwater traps were used to lure bold fish into the trap.
When released back into the pond, the bold fish were less likely to flee from human observers, indicating a greater tendency to take risks.
